Vic first traveled to Baja in 1949 when he was just a small boy visiting Tijuana and Ensenada with his parents and started his of road racing endeavors in 1975 with American Motors and Jeep. Vic was a part of the very first crew to bring a semi trailer to Baja as race support, a part of urban legend, and has been traveling the peninsula yearly ever since. Today Vic is a partner in Trackside Performance that does off road and track support for Yokohama Tire including pitting at the Baja 1000. Vic was a major player in the Ivan Stewart years at PPI and ran their race support from the Yokohama side and now plans out the much of the major pitting for the Desert Assassins off road race teams.


Mark Steele

Mark is the father of Master of Baja creator, Cameron Steele. He has been traveling in Baja since the 50’s. Known as Big Daddy, he can be found both guiding the fresh fish through Baja and getting into his own style of debauchery at times. Mark is a two-time Baja 1000 winner racing in the difficult Baja Bug class and has raced in Baja California over 30 times since the day he first lined up for the Baja 1000 in 1971. He has been the main chase truck driver on six peninsula runs over the last two years and brings a wealth of Baja knowledge to any trip he is a part of. “I like to call him the hound dog, because anytime we have an issue he just seems to magically appear in the chase truck and he just defies reality sometimes,” said Cameron.





Kelly Courie

Kelly is a savvy Baja adventure traveler. For over two decades he has traveled from the United States to the tip of the Baja Peninsula on a variety of off road adventures including racing in the premier class of SCORE International, the Trophy Truck division. He is the primary co-driver/navigator for the 2007 SCORE Baja 1000 Overall Champions, Riviera Racing. Kelly has raced in over 75 races along Mexico’s famed peninsula. He is a master mechanic and fabricator, as well as a natural leader who has twenty years of Baja experience beneath his belt. His intimate knowledge of Baja’s back roads define his innate ability to lead chase teams.




Mike Groscup

Mike has maintained a second residence in Baja California for 40 years. He recently retired from the Los Angeles County Fire Department where he served the public for over 35 years. His second home has been a location that he has used as a base of operations for his many forays into the Baja wild over the past four decades. He is a master “McGyver” mechanic and a seasoned Baja adventure seeker. His knowledge of remote locales, as well as the many important points of interest down Mexico Hwy 1 is reknown to many. During the past two years, Mike has been an integral part of Riviera Racing’s Baja Support team providing chase support up and down the peninsula. Mike is also a trained LA County Fire Paramedic. Creator and show Co-Host Tim Sanchez commented, “He’s not such a bad guy to have around in the middle of a crisis.”

Jimmy Lee Cook

As the founder and CEO of Sinister Film Productions, Jimmy is an accomplished videographer, who has worked as a Helicopter Wescam camera operator, supplying Off-road racing action footage to a variety of different films and T.V. shows such as “Dust 2 Glory”, “Chasing Baja”, “Off-Road USA”, and “Stunt Junkies” as well as the SCORE International & CORR off-road races for Speed and Discovery Channel, just to name a few. He was also an Xtremey award winner for “Best off-road truck video” of 2008 for the film “Riviera Racing 3 “Above the Law”. As the sole member of the film crew for the Riviera Racing team, Jimmy has logged countless days and hours of traveling, filming, and flying in Baja to capture some of the best cinematography images ever seen.
